What's Important to Me...

"I love life, because what more is there" -Anthony Hopkins

"What's important to me" is a hard statement to answer because so many things are important to me and help shape my life everyday.

Over the years, I have come to learn that family is number one.  I have a very big extended family, and as any family, we've had some hard times, troubles, but also happy times.  One thing I've noticed is that family sticks together and no matter what they will be right by your side.  My parents are divorced, so I've always had the problem of "conflicting interests" between the two sides.  But, either way, whether they get along or not, my family is always my number one fan.

My mom is by far my biggest supporter.  She has taught me so much and without her support, I wouldn't be where I am today.  I've seen her seen her through some hard times and struggle, and she always has a smile on her face, a twinkle in her eye, and the drive to change any outcome that would hurt the family.  She is an amazing person, who has been through a lot to get to where she is today.  She is always there for me and supports me in what ever I do.  I hope and strive to be a lot like her and take life head on the way that she has.

With the support of my family and my values and goals, my future career path is to be a nurse.  Sixth grade is when I decided this.  I want to help people and make a difference in someone's life.  My senior year of high school I went to school half-day and interned at a hospital in the labor and delivery unit the other half of the day.  I was able to have such an interesting and enjoyable experience, which just made me even more sure that nursing is what I wanted to persue.

My career path has so much to do with my family.  Because of the values, goals, and support they've instilled in me, I have become the person I am today; someone who is caring, kind, and strives to help others.

  1. Great post! It's good to see that, although your parents are divorced, you still maintain healthy relationships with both of them. I've seen so many of my friends go through this and the way it has changed them. Staying true to your values and goals will help you achieve a successful life for yourself.

  3. It's sweet to see that you are very close to your family because I believe everyone should be close to their own family. It is important to keep that close connection because they should be your biggest supporters.

  4. Ah, my mom and I are very close as well. While I'm not as close to my whole family, really, I know I can always turn to my mom to be my supporter.
